Why "Collective"?

Wellness Is a Shared Journey

The word "Collective" isn't just a name—it's a philosophy. At Quantic, your wellness journey is supported by a community of coaches, fellow clients, and a culture built on mutual respect. We're not a factory gym processing members. We're a small, intentional space where every person is known by name, and every program is designed for the individual. Collective means we're in this together.

The People Behind Quantic

Two trainers. Two very different paths. One shared commitment to your wellbeing.

Garret McCann

Co-Founder · NSCA-CPT · Pre/Post Natal · Muscle Activation Technique

Train with someone who understands that movement is more than physical.

I'm Garret—personal trainer, former model, and someone who learned firsthand that what you work through in the gym goes far beyond the body. It's mental, emotional, and spiritual.

My path into wellness started with my mother. She was an athlete in her 30s when she began experiencing severe back pain that led to multiple surgeries. Watching her go through years of pain—and seeing how misdiagnosis prolonged her suffering—shaped everything about how I think about the body. I pursued biomechanics and kinesiology because I never wanted anyone to go through what she went through if there was a way to intervene earlier, move smarter, and support the body before it breaks down.

I started my training career at Equinox's flagship Columbus Circle location in New York City in 2010—a club known for attracting the highest caliber of trainers and education in the industry. I trained alongside and learned from the best, working with professional athletes, Broadway performers, news correspondents, and people from every walk of life. That experience gave me a deep foundation, but it was my own journey that shaped how I coach today.

When I couldn't press overhead or hold a handstand because of chronic shoulder pain, I didn't push through it. I dialed back, got honest with myself, and learned to work through it safely, step by step. That process changed everything about how I train others.

I moved to Asheville in 2023 and immediately found a community that felt like home. The people I work with here remind me every day why I do this—because wellness isn't just about stronger arms or a better physique. It's about what you overcome, what you release, and who you become on the other side.

My approach is rooted in intuition, empathy, and connection. I watch how your body moves, I feel when something isn't right before you say it, and I adjust in real time. Every session is built around you—your history, your capacity, and your goals.

My training emphasizes contra-lateral and uni-lateral movement patterns—building balanced strength across both sides of the body for real-world function and injury prevention.

Maria Laverde, NASM CPT, Co-Founder of Quantic Wellness Collective in Asheville NC

Maria Laverde

Co-Founder · NASM CPT · 200-HR Yoga Teacher · Doula

Train with someone who rebuilt from the ground up—and will never ask you to push past what your body is telling you.

I'm Maria—co-founder of Quantic, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, 200-hour yoga teacher, and certified doula. But the credential that matters most is the one I earned the hard way: seven major knee surgeries across seven years.

I was a competitive motocross racer. I've had multiple ACL reconstructions, meniscus repairs, and a level of joint damage that most people would use as an excuse to stop moving entirely. Instead, it became the reason I started training others. Because I know what it feels like to wonder if your body will ever work the way it used to. I know what it's like to be scared to push. And I know how important it is to have someone in your corner who understands the difference between discomfort and danger.

Every program I write starts with one question: what does your body actually need? Not what's trending. Not what worked for someone else. What does your body—with your history, your limitations, your goals—need right now?

I watch how you move. I check your form on every rep. I adapt in real time when something doesn't feel right. And I never, ever tell you to push through pain. There is always a better way.

At Quantic, I train athletes, parents rebuilding their strength postpartum, people managing chronic conditions, and anyone who's ready to feel capable and confident in their body again. Our sessions are different every time because your body is different every day. That's not a weakness—it's the foundation of smart training.

Hablo español. If Spanish is more comfortable for you, we can train in Spanish.

Evidence-Based Methods. Human-Centered Care.

Every program at Quantic is grounded in functional movement science, biomechanics, and corrective exercise principles. Our trainers don't follow fitness trends—they follow the science of how your body actually moves, heals, and rebuilds.
